We are looking for candidates to fill a number of new roles in our client’s IT Infrastructure Engineering group. The group is responsible for the engineering work behind their enterprise technology, compute, storage and network infrastructure.
About this role
This is for a database expert on their DB Engineering efforts, working under the responsibility of the DB Engineering Lead.
Responsibilities
Database and replication system administration.
Install, test and package RDBMS releases and patches for global deployment.
Develop, maintain and document DB administration and monitoring tools for all company’s RDBMS technologies.
Perform performance and tuning analysis and problem resolution.
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Experience with Sybase or IBM DB2 V9.0
Advantage: Linux, experience with IBM MQ series
ODBC, JDBC and Sybase/IBM proprietary DB connectivity APIs
Knowledge of Unix, Linux and Windows OS
Knowledge scripting languages (Perl, KSH, CSH), development languages like Java or Ruby a strong plus
SAN environments, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas cluster
2-5 years professional experience managing Sybase or DB2 environments
4-8+ years experience in IT
