For their newly established IT Infrastructure Engineering group, responsible to create and
support a completely new infrastructure platform for the entire firm using leading edge commercial and open-source products we seek
IT Security Engineer
We are presently seeking an IT Security Engineer to develop and lead IT security systems and processes in our client’s applications, offices and Data Centre’s globally.
Main Responsibilities:
Ensure IT security compliance with the appropriate Financial Industry requirements, Regulatory requirements and industry best practice
Provide a central point of expertise and support especially for IT staff
Ensure the IT Security of applications, systems and networks are appropriate
Ensure appropriate audit trails are maintained and checked
Ensure systems comply with the appropriate Data Protection/ Privacy legislation
Liaise with business users for the analysis of new requirements and design of appropriate solutions
Ensure appropriate IT Security support arrangements are in place for all systems
Conduct regular IT Security risk assessments and supervise the appropriate remedial action
Ensure that best-practice IT Security standards are identified, communicated, maintained
Maintain a knowledge base of relevant security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities
Investigation of potential IT security breaches
Requirements
7+ years of relevant (at least 4 years IT security) expertise
Strong knowledge of Firewalls – personally designed and overseen the implementation of at least 2 commercial internet facing systems (i.e.: Netscreen, PIX, Checkpoint etc) in the last 3 years,
Experience with Network and Web security management (Remote Access Systems, VPN, firewall security, IDS)
Good knowledge of Active Directory/ Exchange, LDAP and Kerberos
Knowledge of desktop and server OS security and operations – Windows
XP, 2003 and Linux (i.e.: virus prevention, patching, policies, IDS, desktop management tools, group policy
enforcement, encryption, etc.)
Experience of internet application security, penetration testing including SQL injection attacks
Good inter-personal skills and English
Strong analytical and organisational skills.
Learn very quickly and adapt to complex
Advantage:
Membership of an appropriate recognized IT Security Association eg CISSP, ISSAP preferably with appropriate certification eg CCSA, CCSE etc.
Working knowledge of Cisco switching and routing devices
Carried out formal IT Security assessments – at least 3 in the last 3 years
Experience of Database Systems security management (ideally Sybase, DB2 and
Microsoft SQL server)
